This sculpture is very porous and rough. It gives a completely different feeling than if it was done smooth in marble or polished granite.
Mind Bending (Bhac Ji-Ho)
This sculpture by Bhac Ji-Ho clearly illustrates a smooth texture.
Cardboard Face (Unknown)
I'm not sure who came up with this, but you can purchase a kit and put it together yourself. I just thought it had some very interesting texture. Using different materials to make art can give very interesting results.
Frozen Statue Photograph (Unknown)
Although this is a photograph, It clearly captures the texture of the crystaline structures of the frost and makes one feel the cold just by looking at it.
Raven From Tutorial
I followed along with the instructor's video and made this by sketching out an outline in pencil, then using charcoal and prismacolor black colored pencil. I need to practice on my wood texture.
Peregrine
On this drawing of a Peregrine Falcon I used the techniques I learned from Professor Shipova and I think it turned out well. It's obviously not perfect, but I'm happy with my progress. I didn't realize how hard birds are to draw. I'll have to keep practicing. This was done with charcoal and colored pencil.
Woodpecker
I actually did this drawing before I followed in the instructors tutorial on how to do the raven. I should have done the tutorial first. This was just done with a graphite pencil. It would have turned out much better with charcoal and a colored pencil. I could have got better shading and a smoother finish. But I'm learning from these mistakes...
Music Inspiration
A quick painting while listening to classical music.
