Perhaps you recognize this painting. Religion aside, the perspective is quite interesting. Da Vinci placed the vanishing point directly behind JC and thus drew every bit of attention on him.
Vanishing point (movie/book)
I thought that this picture from the movie 'Vanishing Point' based on the book "Vanishing Point" involving a vanishing point off on the horizon, was a good example of something...
Week 6 Assignments...
Barn - Colored Pencils
I followed along with Professor Shipova. I'M THROWING THIS ONE OUT. IT'S OBVIOUSLY NOT WELL DONE, BUT I'M POSTING IT TO SHOW I FOLLOWED ALONG WITH THE LESSON! I am happy with the one I did in pencil 'Barn Sketch' over there-------------->
Barn Sketch
Trusty #2 pencil. You can see my lines leading to the vanishing points in the 'frame'. I had fun with this assignment and can see me doing a lot of perspective drawing.
Fence
This was a fun assignment. It's not one of my best works, but I'm getting the concept down. I'll be doing more of this kind of work.
I also did several sketches of city streets and buildings. On one of them I spent several hours doing detail work. Then I decided to paint it... Bad idea. I completely ruined it. So if anybody is reading this: If you feel like painting over your sketches, I hope you have better luck than me. But please: SCAN/PHOTOGRAPH YOUR SKETCHES FIRST! (Just in case)
