In Rembrandt's painting "PREDICATION DE JEAN BAPTIST" the combination of centralized lighting fading to shadows gives the feeling of great importance to the standing character in the painting. (John [Jean])
(Kumi Yamashita)
I just thought this was interesting. Using garbage strategically placed with a single light source hitting it from the front makes for some interesting silhouettes.
Week 3 Assignments...
Marbles Attempt 1
My first attempt at drawing marbles using colored pencils on construction paper. It's harder than I thought...
"Coffee Cup Ring Paper"
Well it may not look like a marble should, but paints are quite a bit more tricky than the colored pencils (at least for me), especially with blending and shading. The marble started off as a ring on my paper from my coffee cup.
(Giovanni Baglione)
In Giovanni Baglione's painting "SACRED AND PROFANE LOVE" the shadowy character in the left is given a sense of mischief and evil, while the figure on the right who is lit up is given a sense of purity.
Marbles Attempt 2
Attempt two this time solo using the technique I learned earlier. I'm going to need some practice, but I think it's getting better. I was planning on doing some hilighting with paints, but got too nervous.
